Dreams
Firestarter -Trouble
1.) Tub Ring - Fallback (Fermi Paradox)
Ah, Tub Ring, how you make me smile with thoughts of your high energy live shows in which the people that haven't seen you don't know what to think but know that everyone else is having fun, so you see no other choice but to submit to the energy surrounding and have fun

2.) Bad Religion - Automatic Man (All Ages)
Bad Religion is freaking amazing, they;ve changed so much since they started, great stuff.

3.) Ben Folds five - One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces (Whatever and Ever Amen)
Ben folds, ah how you rock they ivories in a way that many people could only wish they could, such finesse. you can rock it like nobodies business, i really need to try to dedicate more time to listening to them/him.

4.) Modest Mouse - Red Hand Case (Sad Sappy Sucker)
I'm really not surprised more modest mouse came up, i'm pretty sure there is some crazy fucking connection as to why this is happening, and i may figure it out someday.

5.) FreezePop - Science Genius Girl (freezepop forever)
If it weren't for video games i'd never have known about this gem of synthpop delitefulness, i first heard them when playing a game called amplitude, and the song was one of the most fun songs on the game. eventually i DLed a shit load more of their music, and haven't been able to not smile since, anytime i hear them. and now they're on another game (by the same manufacturers, Harmonix) that a lot of people tend to love, yea, i'm talking about Guitar Hero, and i'm sure they'll be on the sequel too.

i forgot about it last week, though i was pretty busy last friday, but this week it is done, i did not forget, and it's bitchen! (shuffle friday is always bitching, it's just an interesting way to start off a day, which is when i tend to do it.)

1. Broken Social Scene - I Slept With The Bonhomme At The CBC (Feel Good Lost)
i can never really get enough of BSS, they have such smooth melodies it makes me want to crap my pants. no, not really, but they do make my ears very happy.

2. Modest Mouse - So Much Beauty In Dirt (Everywhere And His Nasty Parlour Tricks [EP])
Yet another band i really never get sick of, modest mouse is very unique in everything they do, and the lyrics usually have something poignant to say. "so much beauty it could make you cry" fits perfectly

3. Modest Mouse - Black Blood And Old New Agers (Sad Sappy Sucker)
out of 2000 some tracks i get two in a row, not bad.

4. Modest Mouse - 3 Inch Horses, Two Faced Monsters (Everywhere And His Nasty Parlour Tricks [EP])
Something weird is going on today, not only 3 MM tracks in a row, but two of them from the same album(ep). none the less there is a very fun rounds going on in this song, very eclectic sounding.

5. The Queers - Like a Parasite (Hopelessly Devoted To You Too)
back from when i was in more of my punker phase, i still love a lot of upbeat punky stuff ike this, it's just good fun, and i don't really have to be in any certain mood for it. good stuff, i wish i still had this CD, it was a hopeless records comp, i enjoied most of it too.

me thinks it's going to be a great day!

stole this from the LJ of the dude who writes Questionable Content

I am going to list some of my goals I have in life. Please join in with your own:

• figure out ways to draw people to read Heroes Are Made
• make money from Heroes Are Made or some other webcomic venture, not necessarily a lot, just some extra funds, though living off it would pretty much rock my world
• become a cyborg
• do the college thing, and get at least 3 BAs (Com Sci. English creative writing emphasis, and something else yet to be determined, probably something math/music/art oriented)
•Learn to speak German and Esperanto
• Teach myself to play the Keys again, as well as bass.
• hang out in atlantis
• Get a Synth/midi controller, drum machine, and a high end computer (as well as an input interface) to make crazy music
• Save the world, on accident, only to subsequently, and accidentally, return it to the clutches of some new danger
• Learn to sing better
• travel to australia
• fly without the use of a plane
• trick someone else into cannibalism
• be my own boss in some way (perhaps opening up a brick and mortar type shop)

yes, shuffle friday, and as i have the day off, it's the first thing i do...

1. The Pixies - Wave of Mutilation (Death To The Pixies)
"cease to resist, giving my goodbye, drive my car into the ocean, you'll think i'm dead, but i sail away, on a wave of mutilation"
the pixies always make me happy.

2. Ben Folds - Gone (Rockin' The Suburbs)
if you've just had your heart broken, this could very well be the best thing to listen to.

3. Broken Social Scene - Stomach Song (Feel Good Lost)
there really isn't much going on in this track, it's rather quite a bit of noises overlap, and layered. It isn't a track i would normally skip to on the album, but i don't tend to skip through tracks when i'm listening to it as an entire album, and it does fit realy well with it when that is the case.

4. Tubring - Wealth of Information (Zoo Hypothesis)
RAH! so much energy! such a great live show! i need to get my ass out to tubring again and sometime soon, i've been slacking on getting out to see live shows lately, and i missed a great opp to see them in kenosha with my good friend alan.

5. Better Than Ezra - Speeding Up To Slow Down (Friction, Baby)
Christ, i remember listening to BtE back in 5th grade, then i lost them for a bit, and refound them because my good friend rachel, not sure why i ever stopped listening to them, they're amazing, i guess it's just one of those middle school things i did that i shouldn't have.

1.) Semisonic - Never You Mind (Feeling Strangely Fine)
The first tie i heard this song was on a skate vid, a believe an episode of 411 during the A-team tour vid section, and it fit perfectly, the piano in it is fun and wickedly upbeat, all in all a great way to start off a day much less a shuffle friday.

2.) Silhouette Sines - The One I Wish For (no album)
these guys have a very haunting, very mellow vibe to them, i really wish i could explain it better but subdued guitars, simplistic drum beats, and haunting singing just about does it.

3.) Ratatat - Lapland (Ratatat)
Ratatat makes my ears happy. Guitars synth and drum machine, no vocals, i've listened to this album hundreds of times by now, and still don't get sick of it. the way the music is composed it fits prety much every mood you'd be in, every emotion you'd be feeling, it doesn't so much convy it's own as it does amplify the listeners.

4.) Freezepop - That Boy Is All About Fun (Fancy Ultra-Fresh)
Ahhh.. synthpop, my guilty pleasure...

5.) theSTART - Shakedown! (Shakedown!)
Aimee Echo (the singer) has a phenominal voice, and knows how to use it. this guitar driven band knows what they want to accomplish and do it without a hesitation. thre is one part of this song that stands out from the rest that i don't care for, but it fits, itherway this song rocks!

Never Knows Best

1. Soul Coughing - City of Motors (Ruby Vroom)
Soul Coughing is a band i got into a while back, actually when i heard their single "Circles" i went out and bought that cd, and was amazed. It was my first exposure to "Trip-hop" very funky, very fun, it really started to change the way i looked at music, and i opened myself up to a lot more things. They've always been one of those bands that i've had a fondness of because they've always done their own thing.

2. Liz Phair - Supernova (Whip-Smart)
How can anyone not like liz phair?? she sing about sex A LOT, and does it really well, and with a ton of creative license.

3. Death Cab for Cutie - Tomorrow (You Can Play These Songs With Chords)
i've not had as much of a chance to listen to this album as i really should, "december seems to come to soon, will you wait until tomorrow" always makes me think the yrs are going by faster and faster. it's weird to think back were i was a yr ago...

4.Deathmøle - Pavement Were A Bunch Of Lazy Wankers
This is a little pet project of jeph jacques, the author of Questionable Content. it's very peaceful track, something i could really use right now, very melodic guitars, and just makes me want to forget my woes and throw away the day, too bad i can't do either...
--let me know if you want these tracks i have a few different ones that he's made, and i'd be happy to share them--

5.Richard Cheese - People Equals Shit [Slipknot cover](Aperitif For Destruction)
there is something about richard cheese that always makes me smile, maybe it's the cheesy lounge sound, maybe it's him singing and cursing so eloquently. not to mention this is basically exactly what i need before i go to work "c'mon mother fucker everybody has to die!" and he sings it with a smile, as you can obviously tell.

1)The Decemberists - California One/Youth and Beauty Brigade (Castaways And Cut-Outs)
-the decemberists are a fenominal band, everything they right is so very gorgeous, and this is no different. The song starts with a nice and slow tempo, which seems to be exactly what i needed to start my day off with, and then later picks itself when the ladder hald of the song begins. "Nothing will stand in our way"

2)Iron & Wine - Free Until They Cut Me Down (Our Endless Numbered Days)
I never know what to say about iron and wine, they're styling is so low-key, and folksy. it's something that is easily lost as background, but shouldn't be, the music is well written and the lyrics are usually very morbid, it's odd how this band has gone unnoticed as long as it has, which reminds me, i need to tell more people about these guys.

3)Joydrop - Strawberry Merigolds (metasexual)
This list is just getting more and more eerie, as if my Winamp knows what i'm in the mood for. this Album is usually something i listen to when i have stuff to think about, something on my mind. it's good thinking music.

4)Modest Mouse - All Night Diner (Interstate 8)
There really isn't much i can say about this... just listen to it.

5)Flaming Lips - One More Robot - Sympathy 3000-21 (Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots)
this song always chokes me up a little bit, it's a very meloncholly song.

Shuffle Fridays...(idea stolen from Andy Greenwald)
in which i load all my tracks into winamp, and hit random.  The first fuve that pop up are what i have to listen to, and comment on. hopefully i'll start being able to do this habitually...

1) 99 Luftballoons - Nena
-I've not listened to this song a while, but it's one that i've always been fond of.  I'm not realy sure why, it's just one of those tracks i immediately fel in love with.

2) Once Around the Block - Badly Drawn Boy (Bewilderbeast)
-Badly Drawn boy was one of my more cherished cds, unil it had goten stolen oh so long ago, the entire album had this folksy pop sensibilty that was just so very charming.

3)Apples Oranjes - The Smashing Pumpkins (Adore)
-Adore has always been at the list of my top albums, and this track ha always intrigued me, it asks "What if?" throughout the entire tack, and the tone the song sets is very contemplative.

4)Harry Truman - Mindless Self Indulgance
-I never realy have much of anything to say about MSI, they fucking rock, and have more energy than a beehive ful of crackheads.

5)November Has Come - Gorillaz
-The Gorillaz have always been a bit of a novelity to me, to be completely honest, and though i recognize how talented the artists behind it are, and how very much pop sensibility goes into making a gorillaz album, i've never really been able to take them completely seriously. that being said, they sure as hell have been able to make me want to move my ass on multiple occasions.

so adam and i have done a bit more work on the comic tonight, not as much as previous nights, but we did work finish another, or at least properly ended one of the ones we had been working on, and combined it with one of the finished one, it's a much more completed product now, but it's also a longer single comic now, and we're not closer to our five minimum. Regardless, i'd trade quality over quantity any night, so if this is what it comes down to, so be it anyway, here's a bit of a teaser for you all to enjoi while wait til june 1, when we finally launch (with a small backlog in case we happen to fall behind)

May. 2nd, 2006 @ 03:45 am a drunken update
Dreams
Gir-Stoned
Mental State: ecstaticDRUNK!
another productive night down, we finished another whole comic, despite the fact that we opened a bottle of scotch. I've never drank scotch before, and it's quite tasty. We still have two half finished comics to make, but we have three finished, and the quality only keeps improving.

as we continue to work, we continue to figure out photoshop better, and how to use our camera better, not to mention lighting and composition.

but right now i'm drunk, and probably typing surprisingly well for what i've consumed.

so now i shall bid you all good night, and perhaps later i shall regale yous all with a real update which is not comic progress related. until then, we're making awesome headway on this project, and we're going to be WAY ahead of schedule when we finally do start updating regularly. The idea is that we will have our own Domain (a .com would be preferable) and be able to update there. i have all intentions of still updating here, but perhaps less frequently. I have all intentions of having a blurb pertaining to the posted comic, as well as the comic itself when it's posted.

So far we've mad 2 comics about drinking, and we have a comic in progress about smoking (cigarettes) and a comic finished about music reading, and another in progress about... something else, i cannot remember cause i'm drunk.

on the bright side we're going to be able to write off a few different things on our taxes, such as a new computer, and a digital camera... We're also going to try to write of our alcohol but i'm not sure that's going to be as effective as the other two.

anyway, i shall bid you all good eve, as i am now passing the fuck out.

good knight!

Hi again everyone!

I've returned, and though this absence thing seems to be reoccurring, that's just how things go. i've been keeping myself busy, and i didn't really feel i had anything of much interest to say in here, so i just didn't.

Though now, now i have something i need to tell everyone, something that each and everyone will be amused by, or at least i will fool myself into thinking that. My good friend Adam and I, well, we've decided we are going to make a webcomic, specifically, a photocomic. We had thought about a few various ways that we could do the webcomic, but due to our limited artistic talent, at least as far as drawing is concerned, and our ambition for making something that looks good, and polished, we went with the photocomic chronicling our adventures shenanigans.

we currently have a handful of scripts/script-ideas down on paper, and believe or not, we've actually completed a whole comic, and it looks pretty damn good.

Now we've got to secure a domain, a server, and most importantly, a fan base. Anyone willing to do a Link trade when we get this off the ground should let me know,

our goal, is by the beginning of June, to have AT LEAST 5 strips 100% completed, this isn't a long process, though we need to figure out a way to streamline how we get this done. we intend to make it a narrative of sorts, much like Reprographics(Created by Chris Yates) is.

i know there are a ton of other photocomics out there including Sinister Bedfellows (by mckenzee) but i'd like to see some more, to see how others are working their photo mojo. so if anyone has a photocomic link they think i should see, by all means pass it along.

me (1:15:58 AM): weird, so do you really think i'm a super hero?
ellenzula (1:16:51 AM): FUCK YEAH YOU ARE
me (1:17:07 AM): *blink blink*
me (1:18:04 AM): i dunno, are you sure?
ellenzula (1:19:13 AM): pretty sure wootus pie
me (1:20:07 AM): even if i don't wanna be?
ellenzula (1:23:05 AM): you were born that way. you are a superhero whether you like it or not
me (1:23:32 AM): does this mean i'm going to have a supervillian?
ellenzula (1:24:45 AM): haha yeah probably. although they may not have shown their face yet
me (1:25:10 AM): i don't even have a cool origin story
me (1:25:26 AM): instead i just have a couple odd occurances that pointed it out to me
me (1:27:52 AM): what about a weakness then? every hero has some sort of weak point
me (1:28:10 AM): and i can't go out there not knowing what it is
me (1:28:44 AM): so if i don't have a weakpoint, i can't be a superhero
ellenzula (1:29:35 AM): hahaha
Wo0tus 2021 (1:29:46 AM): right?
ellenzula (1:29:53 AM): i GUESS
ellenzula (1:30:03 AM): but maybe you just havent realised what your weak point is yet
me (1:30:27 AM): but until i do realize my weak point, than i can't be a super hero
me (1:30:34 AM): maybe just a hero in training
ellenzula (1:31:23 AM): haha ok fair enough
me (1:32:09 AM): cause super heros have to be able to defend they're weakpoint after all
--------------------
me (1:58:51 AM): so what can i do if i don't wanna be a superhero?
ellenzula (1:59:41 AM): you can stab yourself in the face until you DIE!
me (2:00:04 AM): but what if i break the knife before i die?
ellenzula (2:00:46 AM): then you fail and must contnue your destiny to become a superhero
me (2:01:49 AM): that's like the witch test though, we're either way i'm SOL
ellenzula (2:02:02 AM): haha yeah sucks for you!
------------------------------------

is it true, can it be possible?

i did survive getting hit by a car, or as i like to call it, i "beat up a car" and i guess that dude might have died had i not helped, but i didn't save his life... or is this just the modesty/not taking credit thing that superheros are supposed to do.
